We are a rapidly growing mobile game development studio, with our flagship app becoming the #1 RPG in over 100 countries and getting over 20 million downloads. As a bilingual studio that caters to an international audience, translation is a big part of what we do. We are currently looking for a bilingual Assistant Producer to help us take the quality of the localization in our stories and voiceovers of our games to the next level! Job Description: Our ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, empathic, creative, flexible, thorough, has initiative, and is willing to take on tasks outside their comfort zone. No game development experience is needed for this role! While management and quality control of localization will be the primary focus of this position, as an Assistant Producer, you will also have various opportunities to be involved in different aspects of game development. Your tasks will include (but will not be limited to): - Finding and managing external translators - Ensuring that the localization of our games meet our standards (this may include editing translations) - Translating internal game design and story development documents from Japanese to English and vice versa - Translating texts for game promotions - Managing translations for our new E-commerce website - Researching industry trends and benchmarks - Providing input during game development to ensure the final game properly supports localizations Position Requirements: - Native level English and business level or higher Japanese (must be at least be able to comprehend and consume content in Japanese) - Able to come into the office 5 days a week - Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Excel - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team - Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Self-motivated and committed to quality work - Ability to think creatively - Ability to see things from the perspective of others and understand what they need - Due to the nature of the work, a remote work arrangement is unavailable for this position. Nice-to-Haves: - Prior professional writing experience, fiction or otherwise, in English or Japanese. - Proficiency in any language aside from English or Japanese. - Prior experience as a professional translator or a localization manager.
