Backcountry Programs Supervisor

The Backcountry Programs Supervisor role is an hourly position at ¥2,941 per hr for your role. Please note when delivering guide products you will be paid at your guide hourly rate. The backcountry supervisor will work full-time from 4th December until 17th December after which you will be rostered two days per week to manage the program on the BC Manager's days off. Outside of this you will work as an instructor or backcountry guide & be paid at your guide hourly rate. Key responsibilities include overseeing the operations and safety of the backcountry guiding program, supervising and training backcountry guides, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, coordinating with the Guide Manager to schedule and organize backcountry trips, evaluating guide performance, enforcing a culture of safety among guides and guests, and maintaining accurate records. Summit are looking for rental and retail staff in both Niseko and Furano. We provide backcountry ski and splitboard rentals to both our own guided customers and walk in guests. Summit are looking for a team of hardworking individuals who are excited and passionate about their job. Applicants should have previous experience and knowledge regarding backcountry equipment, this includes using avalanche safety equipment and drilling skis. Hakuba47 Ski Academy is based in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, Japan and is run by Hakuba47 Winter Sports Park (Ski Resort). As part of the ski resort, unlike most ski schools which are independent businesses, we foster strong teamwork with other ski resort staff including lift operators, patrols, ticket centre staff, rental shop staff, and restaurant staff.
