We are enhancing our infrastructure as code capabilities and creating new products, and we need a pioneering software engineer to lead a regional software engineering team in this initiative. The Solutions Engineering team works closely with our managed infrastructure operations team, which runs multiple private OpenStack clouds and Kubernetes clusters globally. This role allows you to enhance infrastructure automation products, leveraging experience from operational use cases. Required Skills: Proficiency in Python and experience with open source automation. A passion for high-quality software design, development, documentation, and testing is crucial. Familiarity with agile development practices and an interest in the entire Linux stack (kernel, networking, storage, application layer) is needed. Responsibilities: - Develop open source software operations code in Python and Golang. - Design and shape open source monitoring and alerting infrastructure. - Innovate open source operations solutions for clients. - Coach and support team members in technical and professional development. - Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence. - Occasional global travel (up to 10%) for events. Who You Are: - Enthusiastic Python programmer. - Organized, delivering timely, and high-quality software. - Knowledgeable about cloud computing and reliable operations. - Practical experience with Linux and networking is required; lifelong learners will thrive here. Bonus Skills: - Computer Science or software engineering degree. - Experience in Golang programming. What You Will Learn: - Real-world exposure to OpenStack and Kubernetes in production scenarios. - Insights into application and infrastructure reliability. - Knowledge of various open-source applications and technologies.
